  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, letting foil hang 2 inches over sides of pan. Spray foil with cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box. Spread in pan.
  • 2
Bake 26 to 28 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. Transfer to cooling rack to cool completely, about 1 hour. Freeze in pan 30 minutes. Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away.
  • 3
In small bowl, add 1/4 cup of the frosting; tint with black food color to desired color. Transfer to small resealable food-storage plastic bag; partially seal, and set aside. In another small bowl, add remaining frosting; tint with orange food color to desired color. Frost top of brownies with orange-tinted frosting. For easier cutting, refrigerate 15 minutes to set frosting.
  • 4
Use sharp knife to cut brownies into 6 rows by 4 rows, making 24 brownies, cleaning knife with paper towel after each cut; slightly separate brownies. Press gumdrop half on top edge of each brownie for stem.
  • 5
Cut off tiny corner of black frosting bag. Squeeze bag to pipe different faces or decorate with desired candies to make eyes, nose and mouth (use photo as guide).

Expert Tips

  • To easily line bottom of pan, tip upside down and form foil around bottom and sides. Flip pan over, and place foil insert inside pan for a perfect fit!
  • To cut brownies easily, use a plastic knife. Refrigerating before cutting helps ensure cleaner cuts.
