Lemon flavored cheese dip made in creative tree shape is perfect dip for Christmas party.
packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
cup shredded Havarti cheese (4 ounces)
tablespoons chopped fresh or 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
teaspoons grated lemon peel
teaspoon garlic powder
cup chopped fresh parsley or basil leaves
Assorted crackers, if desired
Mix cream cheese, Havarti cheese, 2 tablespoons basil, the lemon peel and garlic powder until blended.
Shape cheese mixture into cone shape to look like Christmas tree, or roll into 1 large or 2 small balls or logs. Roll in 1/4 cup parsley.
Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours until firm. Serve with crackers.
Make this tasty cheese ball ahead and store in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks. Roll in the chopped fresh parsley the day of the party.
For an extra-special cheese tree, omit 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil and roll tree in 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese instead. Decorate with chopped red bell pepper,
and top with a small star cut from lemon peel.
