Witch brownies are a fun and easy Halloween treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Fudge Brownie Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 1 pouch Betty Crocker™ Green Cookie Icing
  • 1 pouch (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ Decorating Cookie Icing black icing
  • 48 candy eyeballs from 1 package (0.88 oz) Betty Crocker™ Dessert Decorations Candy Eyeballs
  • 8 (8-inch) black licorice twists, each piece cut in thirds

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. Line 13x9-inch pan with foil, allowing some to extend over edges of pan. Grease bottom and sides of foil with shortening or cooking spray.

    Make and bake brownies as directed on box. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 hour.

    Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away. Cut into 24 triangles as follows: Cut 3 horizontal rows. Cut each row into 8 triangles so each triangle has a 2-inch wide base. (See link below for diagram.) Set aside end pieces for snacking.

    For each brownie triangle, squeeze green icing over lower third of triangle for face. Pipe black icing on remaining unfrosted top of brownie for hat. Place cut piece of licorice between green and black icing for hat brim. Place 2 candy eyeballs on green icing. Store covered in single layer at room temperature.

    To easily line the bottom of the pan, tip upside down, and form foil around bottom and sides. Flip pan over, and place foil insert inside pan for a perfect fit!

    Short on time? Make and bake brownies the day before. Once cooled completely, store loosely covered until ready to cut into triangles and decorate.

    For the best control, cut a small tip from the cookie icing pouches before decorating these Witch Brownies.
