  • 3 lb Bartlett pears, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • 3/4 cup salted butter, divided
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Spice Cake Mix

  • 1
    Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  • 2
Add pears to a large mixing bowl and combine with brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. Ensure that all pears are coated.
  • 3
Grease a 12-inch cast iron skillet with nonstick baking spray. Add the pears to the skillet.
  • 4
Melt 1/2 cup of butter; cut the remaining 1/4 cup butter into small chunks.
  • 5
Evenly pour cake mix on top of the pears; pour melted butter on top of the cake mix. Then, add the chunks of butter on top.
  • 6
Bake for 40 minutes, until the top is browned and the pears are fork tender. Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
