Ground Beef and Green Bean Stroganoff

Ingredients

lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef

cup chopped onion

cloves garlic, finely chopped

package (8 oz) sliced mushrooms

cups fresh green beans, cut into 1-inch pieces

cups milk
1/2
cup hot water

box Hamburger Helper™ stroganoff
1/2
cup sour cream

    In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until some pink remains. Stir in mushrooms and green beans; continue cooking until beef is no longer pink. Add milk, hot water and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper™ box); stir to combine. Stir in uncooked pasta (from Hamburger Helper™ box). Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender and sauce is thick.

    Remove from heat; stir in sour cream.

Expert Tips

  • To boost up the beef flavor, use 1/2 cup beef flavored broth in place of the 1/2 cup hot water.
  • You can get already sliced button mushrooms or bella mushrooms (baby portabella). Either will work.
