Expert Tips

  • To toast nuts, bake uncovered in ungreased shallow pan in 350°F oven about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Or cook in ungreased heavy skillet over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently until browning begins, then stirring constantly until golden brown.
  • You can use any kind of fresh fruit that you like in this salad. Try cantaloupe, raspberries, honeydew melon, kiwifruit, grapes or oranges.
  • Purchase cut-up fresh fruit from the produce department of the grocery store. You'll need about 4 cups.
  • For Creamy Honey Orange Fruit Salad, mix 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 tablespoon honey and 1 tablespoon orange juice. Toss fruit with creamy mixture.
