  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. In medium bowl, stir brownie mix, water, oil and eggs until well blended. Spread in pan.
  • 2
In small microwavable bowl, microwave peanut butter uncovered on High 30 seconds; stir. Drop 20 spoonfuls of peanut butter in 5x4 rows over brownie batter. For marbled design, pull knife through batter and filling about 1 inch apart; turn pan and repeat.
  • 3
Bake 26 to 28 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. To cut warm brownies easily, use a plastic knife and short sawing motions. Store tightly covered.

Expert Tips

  • You can freeze the brownies by placing in a freezer container or wrapping in plastic wrap or waxed paper, then placing in plastic freezer bag in the freezer.
  • If making with Betty Crocker™ Original Supreme Premium brownie mix (1 lb 2.4 oz), make as directed on box for 8-inch or 9-inch square pan--except before baking, use 1/2 cup peanut butter and drop by 12 spoonfuls onto batter; swirl as directed in recipe.
  • Nutella spread or cookie butter is an excellent addition if you prefer to omit the peanut butter. Dollop or swirl into the brownie batter the same way you would the peanut butter and bake.
  • Top brownies with a sprinkle of mini chocolate chips and/or crushed peanuts.
