Ingredients

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box. Spread in pan.
  • 2
In small microwavable bowl, microwave peanut butter uncovered on High 25 seconds; stir until smooth. Drop 20 spoonfuls of peanut butter in 5x4 rows over brownie batter. For marbled design, pull knife through batter and filling about 1 inch apart; turn pan and repeat.
  • 3
Bake 19 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 2 hours. Store covered at room temperature.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
It's important to microwave the peanut butter until just starting to become a looser texture, then stir until smooth. Peanut butter will swirl better if it is a similar texture to the brownie batter.
  • tip 2
For neat brownie squares, use a clean, sharp knife to cut your Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies; clean the knife after each cut.
  • tip 3
To make cutting the brownies a breeze, line the baking pan with heavy-duty foil, leaving an overhang. Once the brownies are cooled you can lift them out of the pan onto a large cutting board. Remove the foil and cut into pieces.
