In large bowl, make cake batter as directed on box. Beat in 1/4 cup peanut butter. Pour into pan. Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 3
Remove cake from oven to cooling rack; cool 5 minutes. With handle of wooden spoon (1/2 inch in diameter), poke holes almost to bottom of cake every 1/2 inch, wiping spoon handle occasionally with paper towel to reduce sticking.
  • 4
In small microwavable bowl, microwave pie filling uncovered on High 2 minutes, stirring after 1 minute, until mixture is warm and spreadable. Pour over cake; spread evenly over surface, working back and forth to fill holes. (Some filling should remain on top of cake.) Cool completely, at least 1 hour.
  • 5
Squeeze and cut Glaze pouch as directed on box. In medium bowl, beat contents from Glaze pouch with remaining Frosting ingredients with electric mixer on medium speed 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth. Spread evenly on top of cake. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Store covered in refrigerator.

Expert Tips

  • In a poke cake, after baking, holes are poked and a variety of fillings poured over the top such as gelatin, pudding, sweetened condensed milk or fruit puree; then it's topped with your favorite topping.
  • Be sure to poke the cake at least 50 to 60 times so there is plenty of filling in the cake!
