Recipe Ingredients

Let's dive into the delicious ingredient world of these Fudge Brownies with Mint Frosting and Chocolate Ganache.

Fudge Brownie Mix: This is your fantastic shortcut to perfectly fudgy brownies, ensuring a consistent base every time. You can use another favorite brownie mix from Betty for the brownie base if you'd like.

Powdered Sugar: This fine sugar is essential for a smooth, lump-free frosting. It's the primary sweetener and thickener, giving the frosting its delightful body.

Heavy Whipping Cream: Adds extra richness and helps achieve that perfect, spreadable consistency for your creamy mint frosting. When heated and poured over chocolate, this cream creates the smooth, pourable chocolate ganache.

Peppermint Extract: This extract delivers a refreshing burst that complements the rich chocolate.

Green Gel Food Color: This food coloring gives your frosting its signature green hue.

Semisweet Chocolate Chips: The heart of your rich chocolate ganache! These chips deliver intense chocolate flavor.

Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Water, vegetable oil, eggs, butter, green gel food color.

How to Make delicious Fudge Brownies with Mint Frosting and Chocolate Ganache

Here's how to make these delicious Fudge Brownies with Mint Frosting and Chocolate Ganache, with some tips, for perfect results every time! See the full recipe below for all the details.

1. Bake the Fudgy Brownies

Make and bake your brownies as directed on the box. The most important part here is to let the brownies cool completely, about 1 hour, before you do anything else.

2. Frost

Use soften butter for the smoothest frosting. Once your brownies are fully cooled, spread the mint frosting evenly over them. Then, refrigerate for 1 hour to allow the frosting to set.

3. Create the Chocolate Ganache

Gently heat your heavy cream until it just begins to simmer around the edges, with small bubbles forming. Do not boil. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and butter, let it stand for 1 minute, then slowly mix until it's perfectly smooth and glossy. Pour evenly over your chilled mint frosting.

4. Chill, Cut, and Enjoy!

Refrigerate your brownies for another hour (or until the chocolate ganache is completely set and firm). Once chilled, cut them into 16 bars.

How to Store Fudge Brownies with Mint Frosting and Chocolate Ganache

Here are some storage tips for any leftover brownies.

Refrigerator

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. They will stay fresh up to 4 days.

Freezer

For best results, place the cut brownies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Put the baking sheet in the freezer for about 1-2 hours, or until the brownies are firm to the touch. Then, wrap each brownie bar tightly in plastic wrap, then in aluminum foil. This double layer protects against freezer burn. Place the wrapped brownies or an airtight freezer-safe container. Consumer within 2 months.

Thawing

Thaw wrapped brownies in the refrigerator overnight. Or for quicker option, you can thaw them unwrapped at room temperature for 1-2 hours before serving.
