Here are the ingredients you'll need to make these Chocolate-Cherry Brownies.
Brownie Mix: The mix creates a rich, fudgy texture while keeping the recipe quick and easy to prepare.
Maraschino Cherries: Chopped maraschino cherries add sweet cherry flavor and soft texture to the brownies.
Semisweet Chocolate Chips: Chocolate chips melt into the brownies as they bake as well as top the brownies, adding extra chocolate flavor.
Egg: This helps bind the batter together and give the brownies structure while keeping them soft in the center.
Other Ingredients You’ll Need: Water, vegetable oil.
Chocolate-Cherry Brownies store well, making them great for baking ahead.
Store loosely covered for up to 3 days.
Wrap brownies tightly and place in a freezer-safe airtight container. The brownies will keep for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.

Heat oven to 325°F (350°F for glass pan). Grease the bottom of a 9-inch square pan with shortening or cooking spray.

Mix the brownie batter as directed on the box. Stir in 1/3 cup chocolate chips and 1/4 cup cherries. Spread in the pan.
Bake 36 to 39 minutes (29 to 32 minutes for glass pan) or until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean. Immediately sprinkle 1/4 cup of the chocolate chips over the top of the baked brownies; cool 30 minutes on cooling rack.

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cherries over the top of the brownies. In a small microwavable bowl, microwave remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips uncovered on High 30 seconds; stir. Continue heating in 10-second increments, stirring after each, until melted and smooth. Spoon into a resealable food-storage plastic bag; partially seal the bag. Cut a small tip from the corner of the bag; drizzle chocolate over the top. Let stand about 2 hours or until chocolate is set. Cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

Because of the maraschino cherry topping, you’ll need to store your Chocolate-Cherry Brownies in the refrigerator.
Short on time? Dip a fork into the melted chocolate, then quickly flick your wrist back and forth over the surface to create a zig-zag pattern.
