Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

You wouldn't know by the name, but buttermilk contains no butter and has very little fat. Buttermilk is a calcium-rich, refreshing beverage. It also adds tang and a wonderful dairy flavor to salad dressings, dips and baked goods.
