Monkey Bread

  • 3 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 8 slices bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled (about 3/4 cup crumbled)
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (8 oz)

Herb Dipping Sauce

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons Italian seasoning

  • 1
In small bowl, mix Herb Dipping Sauce ingredients. Cover and refrigerate.
  • 2
Heat oven to 350°F. Spray loaf pan, 9x5x3 inches, with cooking spray.
  • 3
In large bowl, stir Bisquick mix, salt, 3 tablespoons of the softened butter, the milk, egg, crumbled bacon and cheese. Mixture will be crumbly. Using hands, work the mixture until thick dough forms. Roll dough into 1-inch balls; place balls in loaf pan. Drizzle with remaining 3 tablespoons melted butter.
  • 4
Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with sauce.

  • Add some additional flavor by stirring 2 to 3 chopped green onions into the dough before rolling it into balls.
  • Bottled ranch dressing also makes a great dipping sauce for this recipe if you’re looking to save a little time.
