A Pyrex (or the like -- Anchor Hocking, etc) will work - can find at Target. Temp same but longer in the oven -- think it states in the recipe.

I have the same question as CathleenBarr - round oven proof glass bowl. Where can we buy them and how long and what temperature do we bake the cake in the round bowl?

My question is about the round oven proff glass bowl. Where can I get one, and how long and how do I bake or microwave with it?

You are so right RosemariePodlewski: My friend make this cake for my daughter 30 years ago. Sad thing my friend would not give out how she did it. She was the only one at that time that knew how so I guess it make her feel special. I can understand that. But now I have found it, thanks to Betty Crocker. I have granddaughters that would just go crazy over this cake. I am so excited to find it. Can't wait to try my hand at it. I too like the stand with ribbon. Also, I got a few other great ideas for makeing any cake look more professonal and the freezing of the cake for crumbs. Fantastic.

I plan on modifying this a bit for my daughter's 8th B-Day. Hers is so close to Halloween that we r planning a Halloween party. I want to make a "masquerade" version of this. Instead of the princess cone, maybe a witch hat and Halloween sprinkles in the shape of spiders and/or bats. I think a red color for the dress would be sufficient, since black frosting tastes so bitter.
