Freezer

Place in a freezer-safe, airtight container or a freezer bag for up to 1 month. Let frosting thaw it in the refrigerator overnight, then let it come to room temperature for about an hour. Once softened, give the frosting a good stir or re-whip it with an electric mixer on low speed for a minute or two until it's smooth and fluffy again. You might need to add a tiny splash of milk (1/2 to 1 teaspoon) if it seems too stiff.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

    In a medium bowl, beat butter on medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in peanut butter, 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, the milk, and vanilla. Gradually beat in remaining 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar, beating after each addition until smooth. Generously frosts a 13x9-inch cake.
