Ingredients

pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ oatmeal cookie mix
1/2
cup butter or margarine, softened

egg
1
tablespoon water
1
package (8 oz) chopped dates
3/4
cup chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar, if desired

    Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, stir all ingredients until stiff dough forms.

    Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake 10 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Expert Tips

  • To use whole dates, snip dates into small pieces with scissors dipped into a glass of water.
  • To soften butter, microwave unwrapped butter in glass bowl or measuring cup uncovered on High 10 to 20 seconds.
