This two-for-one treat boasts fudgy brownies topped with cream cheese chocolate chip cookie "dough" for the perfect play on textures.

Ingredients

Brownie

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup miniature chocolate chips

    Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or spray with cooking spray.

    Make and bake brownies as directed on box. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 hour.

    In medium bowl, beat cream cheese, softened butter and brown sugar with electric mixer on low speed until smooth and creamy. Beat in powdered sugar and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread over brownie layer. Refrigerate about 2 hours or until set. Store covered in refrigerator.

    The secret for cutting bars easily is to line the pan with foil. When it is time to cut the brownies, just lift the baked brownie with the foil out of the pan; peel back foil and cut. This also makes cleanup extra easy.

    Brown sugar needs to be measured by packing or firmly pressing into a dry measuring cup. What you are doing is pressing out any air pockets that get trapped between the sticky grains of sugar.
