Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups Gold Medal™ Better for Bread™ flour
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bread machine or quick active dry yeast
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds

Steps

  • 1
Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except almonds in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Add almonds at the Raisin/Nut signal or 5 to 10 minutes before last kneading cycle ends.
  • 2
Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Medium or Light crust color. Remove baked bread from pan, and cool on wire rack.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Use milk chocolate chips instead of semisweet for a slightly different chocolate flavor.
  • tip 2
You’ll want leftover bread to make Almond-Chocolate Chip Shortcake. Toast leftover slices of bread, and top with ice cream, sliced almonds and sliced fresh strawberries.
