3 Fun-in-the-Sun Lunch Ideas

The heat is on, and if your family is anything like ours, you’re hitting the beaches and pools as often as possible. To make the most of your adventure (and food budget!), pack up healthy nibbles for your school of fishies! Whether you’re splashing around a backyard pool or frolicking on a sandy beach, these easy-to-make lunch ideas are bound to brighten your family’s day on the water.

Wraps are ideal for sticky summer days because tortillas don’t get soggy as quickly as bread does. Nothing squelches a good afternoon like a squishy, soaked sandwich, am I right? (Find 14 ways to fill your wrap sandwich here.) Along with this refreshing roll-up, I packed a Nature Valley® Strawberry Greek Yogurt Protein Bar alongside juicy orange slices.

Make your trip to the beach or pool extra-special with this fish-themed lunchbox. Here I used a fish-shaped cookie cutter to make a PB & J that’s “swimming” in waves of fresh blueberries and SpongeBob Squarepants cereal. In keeping with the theme, in the side compartments I stashed a handful of cheesy fish crackers and some ocean-inspired gelatin.

Bite-sized sandwich-filling “sushi” rolls are great for little hands to grab and go between laps around the pool. Simply layer your favorite deli meats and cheeses and roll ‘em up! Add fresh veggies and a pack of Hawaiian Punch Fruit Gushers Fruit Snacks for dessert and you’ve got the perfect poolside snack box.
