Who sponsers the program that the dentists use to "buy back" the candy to send to the military? Last year I contacted the Navy and the Army and both said they had never heard of the program.

We are "selling" our extra candy back to our local dentist to send overseas to the troops. We get to have fun collecting the candy then teach our kids an important lesson about sharing and supporting the people who protect us and allow us the freedom to participate in such holidays. It is definitely a win-win situation!

Those look delicious, but we're sending our extras to our soldiers in Afghanistan...along with cakes in jars (they last a long time when in jars).

Everyone of them just plain simply sound delicious, just must save all! Only place I know is "drafts", unless I start a "file" Carolyn Sleeper

Check to see if your dentist is have a "buy-back" candy program. They will pay kids for their Halloween candy, and then the candy is sent to U.S. troops abroad. A win-win-win solution!

I love Pineapple Pies that you buy at some grocery stores. Is there a recipe on how to make one at home? Thanks, Sonny
