How to Make Apple Crisp Video

Warm, toasty apple crisp (with a single scoop vanilla bean ice cream, of course) has to be one of the most nostalgic desserts of them all. The beauty of it is that it’s not half as fussy as a apple pie (this crisp only takes 20 minutes to prepare before it goes in the oven!), but it still makes a regular day feel extra-special. Most of the baking ingredients can probably be found in your pantry already, so all you need to add is fruit! Local apples are great if you can get them in-season, but just make sure to use a tart cooking variety that will hold up well during the baking like Braeburn or Granny Smith. You can also use this basic recipe framework as a guideline to make another type of fruit crisp using any type of berry or a stone fruit like peaches. For a berry crisp by using four cups of fresh or frozen berries (thawed and drained). If you’re sticking with apples, feel free to experiment with different spices as well. Cardamom, all-spice, cloves and pumpkin pie spice blends all work nicely with apples just like cinnamon and nutmeg. Tip: If you want an excuse to eat apple crisp for breakfast as well as dessert, don’t be a stranger to these Apple Crisp Pancakes!
