Four Sparkling Ideas for Serving Prosecco

Created January 10, 2017
Sipping prosecco on its own is fabulous. But give these delicious recipes a try for even more pizzazz!

If you’re a fan of champagne then you’ll love prosecco. Prosecco is a dry Italian sparkling white wine that is produced in the regions of Fruili and Veneto in Italy. Probably the most-known recipe using prosecco is the iconic Bellini.

Prosecco is my personal favorite sparkly beverage. It’s best served chilled and is great for sipping during the hot summer months. Besides just pouring a glass of it (and dropping in a few fresh raspberries for a sweet twist), here are a few of my favorite recipes using prosecco.

Frozen Berry Bellini

Light, refreshing, fruity and perfect for summer. These bellinis are made with a combination of blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. It’s berry good!

Rossini

Bright and festive. This cocktail comes to us from Venice and is a terrific alternative to the bellini. Strawberry puree and a bottle of bubbly are all you need to mix up this classic cocktail.

Zabaglione

A very delicate, frothy, creamy and flavorful custard. It’s delicious served over ice cream and cake or even drizzled in your coffee.

Sgroppino

Best described as a boozy Italian smoothie. This lemon version packs a pucker punch because it’s made with both lemon sorbet and limoncello.

Remember that prosecco shouldn’t be reserved for just special occasions. It’s meant to be sipped…often! Cheers!
