Ingredients

  • 1 can (12 ounces) tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup tartar sauce
  • 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel
  • 1 cup thinly sliced romaine
  • 4 crusty French rolls (6 to 8 inches long), split

Steps

  • 1
Mix tuna, tartar sauce and lemon peel.
  • 2
Fill rolls with romaine and tuna salad

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Mayonnaise or salad dressing can be substituted for the tartar sauce.
  • tip 2
Try whole wheat bread in place of the French rolls.
  • tip 3
Add 1 tablespoon of capers to the tuna salad mixture.
  • tip 4
Rémoulade is a classic French sauce made by mixing mayonnaise, mustard, capers and pickles. Tartar sauce, which consists of mayonnaise, capers, pickles and lemon juice, is a quick and easy substitute.
