Make your own fall-flavored coffee-house drink at home with our Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte made with rum, coffee liqueur and canned pumpkin.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 cup hot strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons (1 oz) dark rum
  • 2 tablespoons (1 oz) rum and coffee liqueur
  • Whipped cream

Steps

    In 2-quart saucepan, heat milk, pumpkin and sugar over medium heat until hot (do not boil). Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, coffee, dark rum, and the rum and coffee liqueur.

    Pour into large mug. Garnish with whipped cream and a dash pumpkin pie spice.

    For a cold version, allow to cool, and serve over ice.
  • tip 2
    If you do not have pumpkin pie spice, make your own by mixing 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoons ground ginger and 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg. This will make about 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice.
