We added the kick of cayenne pepper to baked chickpeas for a satisfying vegetarian snack.

Ingredients

    can (15 oz) Progresso™ chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained, rinsed
  • 1
    tablespoon olive oil
  • 1
    teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1
    teaspoon paprika
  • Dash ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • Salt to taste

Steps

    Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, toss all ingredients until chickpeas are coated. Spread mixture in single layer on ungreased 15x10x1-inch pan or cookie sheet.

    Bake 25 to 35 minutes, stirring halfway through baking time, or until chickpeas are dry and toasted.

  • If desired, you can remove the skins from the chickpeas before tossing with the oil and spices.
  • Change up the spices to your liking—add more spicy, smoky or sweet, depending on your mood.
