Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 cup cooked mild Italian sausage
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion or 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 to 1/ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 package (3-ounce size) sliced pepperoni
  • 1/4 to 1/ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 425°F. Lightly grease cookie sheets. Make Pizza Dough. Divide dough into eighths. Roll each into 6-inch circle on lightly floured surface. Fold loosely in half; place on cookie sheet and unfold.
  • 2
Lightly brush oil over dough. Divide and layer remaining ingredients, in order listed, on half of each circle; fold dough over filling. Turn edge of lower dough over edge of top dough; pinch edge to seal. Prick top with fork. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Placing a few tiny holes in the top of your pizza pockets allows steam to release steadily during baking. This helps prevent larger holes from forming that allow filling to leak.
  • tip 2
Dough ahead! Dough can be refrigerated up to 24 hours. Place dough in lightly greased bowl. Turn dough over to grease other side. Cover tightly with plastic wrap; refrigerate. For easier shaping, let dough stand at room temperature at least 20 minutes.
