Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Flower Short Cuts: Fill the vase with 4 inches water. Trim about 6 inches from flower stems, using floral scissors, so heads of flowers will be just touching rim of vase. Arrange flowers in vase. Arrange fresh pine, cedar or other holiday greens on edge of vase around flowers. Flower Floaters: Fill an 3 1/2-inch round glass vase with 1 inche water. Cut flower head from stem. Float flower on top of holly leaves or other holiday greenery.

Kick it up a notch by coloring the water with liquid food coloring and mixing in a little glitter!
