Ingredients

lb bulk mild Italian sausage

cups milk

cup hot water

box Hamburger Helper™ cheeseburger macaroni

tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1
cup pearl-sized (1/2-inch) mozzarella cheese balls (from 8-oz package)

cup jarred sliced roasted red peppers, drained and patted dry
1
cup garlic butter croutons (from 5-oz bag)
1/4
cup shredded fresh basil leaves

    In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain.

    Stir in milk, hot water, and uncooked pasta and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper™ box). Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 9 to 11 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is tender. Stir in vinegar.

    Remove from heat. Top with mozzarella cheese and red peppers. Cover; let stand 3 to 4 minutes to melt cheese. Top with croutons and basil.

Expert Tips

  • Need more heat? Opt for spicy Italian sausage instead of mild.
  • Be sure to grab the “pearl” (1/2 inch) mozzarella balls. If you can’t find any that small, substitute 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
