Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies

Ingredients

cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour

cup unsweetened baking cocoa

teaspoon baking soda

cup butter, softened

cup Truvía™ Baking Blend

teaspoons vanilla

egg

cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

tablespoon Truvía™ Baking Blend

tablespoons water
1
teaspoon coarse sea salt

    Heat oven to 325° F.

    In medium bowl, mix flour, cocoa and baking soda; set aside.

    In large bowl, beat butter, 1/2 cup Truvia® Baking Blend, vanilla and egg with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Press down slightly.

    Bake 13 to 15 minutes or just until set. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.

    Meanwhile, in small bowl, beat 1 tablespoon Truvia® Baking Blend and water. Brush over cookies (discard any remaining water mixture); sprinkle with salt.

  • Looking for something sweet to fix in a flash? Make the cookie dough ahead, and freeze raw in individual portions (we like using a small ice cream scoop to portion). Then, when you are wanting a sweet treat, defrost and bake as directed.
  • As strange as it may sound, salt can really bring out flavor in sweet baked goods, particularly chocolate. Try it on other chocolate treats; you'll be amazed at the delicious flavor!
