Cranberries give a seasonal twist to the citrusy Spanish wine punch - this chilled cocktail drink is perfect for your Christmas party.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cans (8.4 oz each) sparkling cranberry juice
  • 1 bottle (750 ml) white Zinfandel wine
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (1 1/2 large oranges)
  • 1 orange, thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 1 lime, thinly sliced
  • 1 green apple, thinly sliced into rounds
  • Ice cubes

Steps

    In 2-quart saucepan, heat cranberries, sugar and water to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low; simmer uncovered 5 minutes or until cranberries begin to pop. Into large heatproof pitcher, strain mixture through fine-mesh strainer; discard cranberry skins.

    Add cranberry juice, wine, orange juice and orange, lemon, lime and apple slices to pitcher; stir well. Refrigerate 2 hours. Serve over ice.
