Add a colorful touch to Hamburger Helper for cheesy Italian Shells with the addition of frozen sweet peas. A few chopped tomatoes, added after cooking, make it even more colorful.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Hamburger Helper™ mix for cheesy Italian Shells
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 1/3 cups hot water
  • 1 cup frozen sweet peas

Steps

    Brown ground beef in 10-inch skillet; drain.
  • 2
    Stir in uncooked pasta and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper box), milk and hot water. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; stir in peas. Cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until pasta is tender.

    Remove from heat (sauce will thicken as it stands).

    Stir in 1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped fresh tomatoes once you’ve removed skillet from heat.

    Garnish with Parmesan cheese and/or chopped fresh parsley.
