Ingredients

  • 4 medium bananas
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar

Steps

  • 1
Heat oven to 350°F; Cut peeled bananas crosswise in half; cut each half lengthwise in half. Place cut sides up in square baking dish, 9x9x2 inches.
  • 2
Mix butter, lemon juice, cinnamon and cloves; brush on bananas. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake uncovered about 15 minutes or until bananas are hot.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
For an indulgent treat without a lot of fat, serve with a scoop of fat-free vanilla ice cream or frozen yogurt.
  • tip 2
This isn’t the place to use overripe bananas. Buy bananas that are firm enough to hold their shape in the oven but not so firm that they lack flavor.
