Ingredients

  • 5 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1 jar (15 oz) Alfredo pasta sauce
  • 1 package (16 oz) packaged gnocchi (not refrigerated or frozen)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3 cups packed fresh baby spinach leaves (from 6-oz bag)
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps

  • 1
In 5-quart Dutch oven or 4-quart saucepan, cook bacon over medium-high heat until crisp. Using slotted spoon, remove bacon to paper towel-lined plate; set aside. Reserve 1 tablespoon bacon drippings in pan.
  • 2
Add garlic to bacon drippings; cook over medium heat 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in milk, chicken, Alfredo sauce, gnocchi and red pepper flakes. Heat to boiling, stirring frequently; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 3 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until gnocchi is tender.
  • 3
Stir in spinach and bacon; cook until spinach is wilted, about 1 minute. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Gnocchi is actually a type of Italian pasta that is small with a dumpling-like shape and texture. It is generally made with cooked potatoes, flour and egg.
  • tip 2
Gnocchi is available as a shelf-stable, refrigerated or frozen product. This recipe uses the shelf-stable product found with the dry pastas in your grocery store. The shelf-stable product is actually vacuum packed and not dried, making any recipe using it extra quick to prepare!
