Ingredients

Steps

  • 1
Brush griddle or skillet with vegetable oil, or spray with cooking spray. Heat over medium-low heat.
  • 2
In medium bowl, stir all ingredients with whisk until blended.
  • 3
Transfer batter to squeeze bottle. Squeeze bottle over griddle to draw outline of animal with batter, and let cook 15 seconds. Fill in the outline with more batter. Cook about 30 seconds longer or until edges are dry. Turn; cook until golden brown.
  • 4
Serve with butter, honey or maple syrup.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
If desired, use food colors to make different colored batters to color your animals.
  • tip 2
Since it is necessary to work quickly, I sketched the animal shapes on a piece of paper to practice before I used batter.
  • tip 3
For best results, draw the animals backward, so when you put them on the plate, the prettier side is upward.
  • tip 4
Use smaller-tipped squeeze bottle for the outline, and a large tip to fill in.
