  • 3
    tablespoons kosher (coarse) salt
  • 1
    tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1
    tablespoon black pepper
  • 1
    tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1
    tablespoon arbol chile powder

In medium bowl, stir all ingredients until well combined.
  • 2
Divide among 3 (4-oz) jars or containers with tight-fitting lids. Cover.

  • Give as a gift. Decorate each jar with ribbon and a tag.
  • If you cannot find arbol chile powder, substitute ground red pepper (cayenne).
  • This rub is quite spicy; for a milder taste, reduce the red pepper flakes to 1 teaspoon and the arbol chile powder to 1 teaspoon.
