Ingredients

  • 5 fresh basil leaves
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Steps

    Heat oven to 300°F. In food processor, place basil and sugar. Cover; process on high speed until basil is finely chopped.

    In 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium-low heat; stir in basil mixture, flour, salt and cinnamon. Stir in pecans and vanilla; remove from heat.

    Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls; flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of drinking glass.

    Bake 40 minutes or until golden. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.
