Apple Cider-Cinnamon Doughnut Bread

Ingredients

box Betty Crocker™ Krispy Kreme Doughnuts™ cake mix
2/3
cup apple cider
1/3
cup vegetable oil
1/4
cup cinnamon applesauce
1
egg
1/2
cup butter, melted
1/2
cup sugar
1
tablespoon ground cinnamon

    Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 9 x 5-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

    In large bowl, beat cake mix, apple cider, oil, applesauce and egg with whisk. Pour into loaf pan.

    Bake about 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes; remove from pan.

    Pour melted butter into shallow dish, such as pie plate. Pour sugar and cinnamon into second shallow dish; stir well.

    Place loaf into dish of butter; carefully turn to coat each side in melted butter. Carefully transfer loaf to dish of cinnamon sugar; turn to coat each side.

    Knead packet of cake glaze 10 times; drizzle glaze over top of loaf. Cool completely before slicing.
  • Work quickly when dunking loaf in melted butter, or it will begin to fall apart.

Expert Tips

  • Add 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon to plain unsweetened applesauce if that’s the only applesauce you have on hand.
