Apple Almond Oven Pancake

What happens when you combine apples and cinnamon with a sweet, deep-dish pancake? It’s breakfast magic! Betty Maker Josh Lehenbauer adds a sweet, toasty topping to Betty’s original Apple Oven Pancake for his own tasty twist on this popular breakfast recipe.

Chopped apples are baked with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon until they’re soft and sweetly spiced, then topped with an easy batter made with Original Bisquick™ Mix. Josh adds sliced almonds to the top of his Apple Almond Oven Pancake for a nutty crunch—apples and almonds pair so nicely! Once the pancake is fluffy, golden brown and baked through, he dusts it with powdered sugar and serves it with a drizzle of maple syrup.

Josh’s fluffy, nutty Apple Almond Oven Pancake is an easy way to cozy up your breakfast or brunch game. It comes together quickly and makes enough for the whole family—it’s the perfect weekend treat!

Josh’s Tips

  • You can top your pancake batter with the almonds either before baking or halfway through the baking time, depending on how toasted you’d like them to be! I opted for adding them halfway through.
  • Make sure to let your pancake cool a little (about 10 to 15 minutes) before dusting with the powdered sugar so it doesn’t just melt right in!
