Substitute 1 3/4 cup granulated sugar to powdered sugar

Thank you for visiting Ask Betty.  That is a great question!  According to our test kitchens, one cup of granulated sugar equals 1 3/4 cups of packed powdered sugar.  So, to equal 1 3/4 cups of granulated sugar, you would need approximately 3 cups of packed powdered sugar.
