How long can Thumbprint or Linzer cookies be stored at room temperature? Can they be frozen?

Cookies can be stored for several days at room temperature. It's important to store cookies in separate containers to prevent them from picking up flavors from the other cookies. To freeze cookies, tightly wrap completely cooled cookies and bars; label. Unfrosted cookies can be frozen for up to 1 year; frosted and decorated cookies up to 3 months. It's not too early to bake and freeze cookies for the upcoming holidays! Here are a few more cookie-baking tips you might find helpful.
