Can I make crackers from bisquick mix?

Asked on 12/28/2015 12:00:00 AM by Pastry123

That is a great question!  I did a little digging, and found a Caraway Cracker recipe using Bisquick.  And it looks just awesome!  Maybe one for the Super Bowl.  Thanks for reaching out.

Caraway Cracker-Cheese Snacks

Bisquick®

1 1/2 cups Bisquick® baking mix

1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon water

2 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened

1 teaspoon caraway seed

6 ounces sharp pasteurized process cheese spread

Heat oven to 350°.  Mix all ingredients except cheese until dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes.  Turn dough onto surface dusted with baking mix; gently roll in baking mix to coat.  Knead 10 times.  Roll dough into 12-inch square; cut into 2-inch squares.  xxxx dough with fork.  Bake on ungreased cookie sheet until dry to touch, about 10 minutes; cool.  Spread about 2 teaspoons cheese over flat side of each of half of the crackers.  Top with remaining crackers.  18 snacks.

Do-ahead Tip:  Before spreading with cheese, store crackers loosely covered.

High Altitude Directions (3500 to 6500 feet):  Heat oven to 375°.  Bake until crisp and golden brown, about 13 minutes.
