Purple jelly beans are the secret to this ghoulish cocktail's unique color and taste.

  • 10 purple jelly beans
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 cup orange juice, chilled

    Into glass container, place jelly beans and vodka. Refrigerate until vodka has turned desired shade of purple and vodka is chilled, about 45 minutes. Remove and discard jelly beans.

    To make cocktails, into each of 2 champagne glasses, pour 1/2 cup orange juice.

    Place long-handled teaspoon into 1 glass so that it’s touching the side like a ramp. Slowly pour vodka over spoon into glass. Repeat with second glass.

    Recipe can be easily doubled or tripled.

    You can tint vodka whatever color you prefer by using alternate color jelly beans. Black or green would also be quite spooky.

    Garnish with olives, if desired.

    Add 1 to 2 cubes of ice to each glass to keep cocktail extra cool.
