Sweet & Salty Valentine's Chex Mix

By Annalise Sandberg
Created January 10, 2017
Don’t say we didn’t warn you! This crowd-pleasing snack, made with Vanilla Chex, M & Ms®, popcorn and peanuts, is over-the-top addictive.

No matter the occasion, I love munching on a good party mix, especially if it combines both sweet and salty flavors. This Valentine’s Day-themed Chex mix is both sweet and salty, and super-fast to throw together, taking just a few minutes from start to finish. Make it with your kids and let them bag it up and share with friends at school, whip up a double-batch to serve at a work party or book club or simply share it with your sweetie while you enjoy a movie night in—whatever the occasion, I promise it’ll be a hit!

To make this mix, you’ll need Vanilla Chex cereal, mini pretzels, popcorn, peanuts, M&Ms, red and pink sprinkles and white and dark chocolate Candy Melts. (You’ll find the complete list of ingredients in the recipe below!)

First, combine the Vanilla Chex, pretzels, popcorn and peanuts and spread into a single layer on wax or parchment paper.

In separate bowls, microwave the white and dark chocolate candy melts on medium-power until smooth, stirring every minute.

Drizzle the melted chocolates over the Chex mixture; then sprinkle with the M&Ms and sprinkles.

Let the pan sit for a few minutes, until the drizzle is set, before breaking into bite-sized pieces.

This treat is delicious the day it’s made, but you can also store it in an air-tight container for up to 3 days before serving.
