Making these Decorate it Yourself (DIY) Cookie Trees means equal parts baking and decorating—two of our favorite things! These festive holiday trees will help you spread good cheer and celebrate the fun of the season with your family. The best part? They’re super simple, making for a perfect holiday baking activity to do with kids! What you’ll need: Ingredients for our Giant Christmas Tree Cookie Baking sheet Aluminum foil Medium bowl Knife Tree template, if desired. (You can also freehand the shape of the tree.) How to: 1. With moistened fingers, press dough in bottom of pan. Bake 10-14 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. 2. Cut tree shape from baked cookie. You can use a tree template or stencil for precision if you prefer, but we like to just freehand a classic Christmas-tree shape. 3. Stir food color into frosting. Spread frosting onto cookie. 4. Decorate your cookie tree with candies (think gumdrop “ornaments”) and enjoy!
