Slow Cooker Chili Dogs

Don't sweat the heat this summer in a hot kitchen! Let your trusty slow cooker do all the work.

Hot dogs are the perfect summer food. There are so many ways to enjoy hot dogs and my family's favorites is the chili dog. But when it's close to 90 degrees outside, who wants to stand over a hot stove or blazing grill cooking this summer delight? Let this recipe for Slow Cooker Chili Dog recipe be your solution. Start by browning your beef, onions and garlic until meat is no longer pink.

Next, place beef mixture, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper into your slow cooker. Mix until well combined.

Place hotdogs in the slow cooker and cover with chili mixture. Cook on high for two hours or low for four to six hours.

Serve chili dogs on some nice crusty buns and top with cheese and chopped onions

If you happen to have any leftover chili, use it the next day for an easy lunch, served over pasta or in a burger bun.
