Meatball Sliders

Created January 10, 2017
When you serve up these delicious Meatball Parmesan Sliders for the big game, you’re guaranteed to have a winning day…even if your team doesn’t!

On the day of the big game, I can honestly tell you that I am more a fan of the food than the football. When I think of tailgating or having a party, I really don’t care much about the game itself. But, boy, do I love the food! Most people I know love Italian cuisine. So when I have a crowd over, I enjoy serving up these Meatball Parmesan Sliders. Everyone goes crazy over the little bundles of love because nothing beats a homemade meatball.

I took our family recipe and modified it a little to give it a modern twist. The addition of Progresso® Italian-style panko bread crumbs gives these meatballs great texture and flavor. Fresh ingredients make all the difference, too.

I roll the balls so they are just the right size to fit on the bun. Then I brown them in olive oil, but you can also use vegetable oil. Once they are brown, I add my homemade sauce. You can use store-bought, too, if you’re in a hurry.

When I’m ready to serve, I place a meatball on a bun, top it with a slice of mozzarella cheese and a basil leaf as a garnish. These won’t last long. In fact, I almost always double or triple the recipe because my kids eat them two and three at a time.
