Cherry Almond Oat Breakfast Cookies

Let’s be honest: Sometimes, there just isn’t enough time to make a solid breakfast in the morning (let alone get the whole family up and ready to go for the day!). But I never let anyone in my home leave hungry; breakfast is the most important meal of the day, after all!

When time is short, I like to have a satisfying to-go option on hand like breakfast cookies. This version, made with Honey Nut Cheerios® Medley Crunch cereal, is one of my new favorites. It’s chockfull of dried cherries, old-fashioned oats and crunchy cereal with a hint of almond-flavored sweetness. No matter how busy we are, we always make time for these tasty treats.

Mix together your ingredients for basic sugar cookie dough using Betty Crocker® sugar cookie pouch mix. Add a cup of cereal, some rolled oats, dried cherries and sliced almonds.

Carefully stir everything together in a large bowl, being careful not to over-stir so that you can retain that wonderful texture.

Place rounded tablespoon-full dollops of the dough onto lined baking sheets. You can either use your hands to shape the dough or a cookie scoop, either option works great!

Bake the cookies until they’re lightly browned and baked through.

Let the cookies cool completely; then store them away for a busy day. Breakfast is served!
