Candy Corn Sugar Cookie Bars

Inspired by a classic Halloween confection, these quick-to-fix sugar cookie bars are sure to impress.

Candy corn is a seasonal confection no one can resist, and everyone is sure to love these candy corn sugar cookie bars. They’d be perfect for a fall or Halloween party, and would even make great party favors. The recipe is simple, thanks to Betty Crocker’s limited edition Candy Corn Cookie Mix. Simply mix, press the layers into a pan, bake and then frost. Since it’s such an easy recipe, why not get the kids involved? They will absolutely love the fun layers of bright orange, yellow and white!

To make the bars you’ll need Betty Crocker’s Candy Corn Sugar Cookie Mix, butter and water. For the frosting you’ll need powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and heavy cream.

Inside the sugar cookie mix box you’ll find two pouches, one for the orange layer and another for the yellow. The orange mix is pink, but will change color when mixed, so don’t be alarmed. Place each mix into a separate bowl and add 1/4 cup butter and 1 tablespoon water to both.

Using a hand-held mixer or a stand mixer, beat each mixture individually until a soft dough forms.

Press the orange dough into a square baking pan lined with parchment paper or greased with non-stick cooking spray. Press the yellow dough evenly on top of the orange layer.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, just until the edges begin to turn golden.

When the bars are done baking, let them cool completely. Meanwhile, make the frosting by beating the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and cream until light and fluffy.

Spread the frosting evenly on top of the cooled bars and top with sprinkles, if you’d like. Slice into triangles, and serve!
