Expert Tips

This coffee cake is best served warm, but you can microwave a piece for 10 to 15 seconds on High to bring back that fresh-from-the-oven taste.

This has always been a family from back when I was just a toddler. Over the years we have tried to jazz it up even more by adding walnuts, pecans, raisins, chocolate chips and the list goes on. One the grand kids like best is when I double up the topping and mix it into the coffee cake mix. No matter how we make it we think the basic recipe is what makes it great.

So, after reading the reviews I decided to try the coffee cake myself and I took various advice with the extra sugar, the double streusel and then I also added 2 extra tsp. of baking powder and used scalded milk and WOW. It was such a great texture not crumbly at all, more like fluffy. I don't think it will last too long now and it was pretty easy to make.
