Ingredients

1: box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® white cake mix

: Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box

2: containers Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy creamy white frosting

24: to 30 large marshmallows

: Betty Crocker® colored sugar or candy sprinkles

: White or colored birthday candles

Directions

1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans).
2 Make, bake and cool cake mix as directed on box for 24 cupcakes. Frost cupcakes with frosting.
3 Spray blades of kitchen scissors with cooking spray. Cut marshmallows crosswise into slices; sprinkle with colored sugar. Arrange on cupcakes in flower shape. Place candle in center of each flower. Store loosely covered.

Use edible glitter in place of the colored sugar or candy sprinkles. It adds sparkle to cake decorations.

If you have only one pan and a recipe calls for more cupcakes than your pan will make, cover and refrigerate the rest of the batter while baking the first batch. Cool the pan about 15 minutes, then bake the rest of the batter, adding 1 to 2 minutes to the bake time.

I made these cupcakes for a one year old's birthday party. I also made a small smash cake with a couple of flowers for decoration. I used brightly colored sugar for a more wow impact. I filled the center of the flower with a a little blog of colored icing. Two things to keep in mind: oil your scissors (which will need a good scrub afterwards) and press the flowers in while the icing is still wet so the marshmallow sticks. I made these cupcakes for my daughters first birthday and they were a hit!!! I added a fresh strawberry to the top of each one and to the filling. She loved them!!
