Expert Tips

Pick your favorite fruit! Dried apricots, cranberries and blueberries are great stand-ins for the dried cherries.

Scones are a Scottish quick bread that come in a variety of shapes, like triangles, circles, squares, diamonds and rectangles. They can be sweet or savory and are traditionally served for tea and now more often at breakfast and brunch.

I tried this recipe with blueberries and without chocolate chips. I was pleased with the results; very tasty, good consistency and appearance. I used a baking stone and 15 minutes worked well. If I were to try this again without the chocolate chips, I'd add a little sugar (maybe brown sugar?). Good luck!

I never had scones before and I made these and they were great! I made them at a ladies cooking party and several ladies asked for the recipe! They were a big hit. Thanks

This recipe was fantastic! Not only was it delicious and healthy, but my 4 year old LOVED rolling out the dough and making shapes. We used large cookie cutters and made stars and circles, triangles, and even micky mouse! It turned my cooking into a fun time for the whole family! I will definately use this again!
